Umesh Shah

Umesh has almost a decade of experience working in the mental health field both in the public and private sectors, as well as various NGOs across Victoria and Queensland, as a registered Psychologist and prior to this, a Social Worker. Umesh was born and raised in Nepal; however, he has called Australia his second home for almost two decades, and completed all his University studies, and Internship’s in both disciplines in Australia.
He exercises the essential values of recognising the importance of human connection and relationships. It is a fundamental belief to Umesh, that all people are unique, with differing life experiences, values and opinions, and that people are treated with dignity and respect.
He has a special interest in working with clients aged 14+ years who have experienced trauma and its associated disorders such as, Anxiety and Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Chronic Self-harm and Suicide Ideation, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Body-image Issues, Low Self-esteem and Interpersonal Difficulties.
Therapeutic approach
Umesh has specialist experience with therapeutic interventions for both individuals and groups, with diagnosed psychiatric disorders and mental health concerns. He uses a strength-based, compassionate, person-centric approach, with unconditional positive regard. He applies an intuitive and effective communication style, while valuing the diversity of culture and people’s backgrounds which encompasses each individual. He is multilingual and has a cross-cultural approach, and supportive of gender diversity.
Umesh also provides evidence-based treatments, with a combined approach, and works with techniques such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Umesh has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to youth and adults in the general population, as well as first responders, who have experienced complex mental health disorders. He also has extensive experience in leading specialised group psychotherapy programs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Group, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Group, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Group and Trauma Recovery Program for Veterans and First Responders.

Min Stewart, a seasoned psychologist (Provisional) dedicated to guiding individuals towards a more fulfilling and empowered life journey, integrates various evidence-based therapeutic approaches into her practice. With a profound belief in the strength-based approach, Min strives to illuminate the innate strengths within each person while navigating through life's challenges to maximise their capacity and enhance their quality of life.
Drawing from over a decade of diverse work experiences, Min has worked extensively with populations spanning children, adolescents, young adults, and families from various cultural backgrounds. Her background as both an educator and therapist equips her with a multifaceted understanding of developmental conditions, behavioural concerns, emotional regulation, and anxiety management. In her practice, Min utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and compassionate-focused approaches to address the unique needs of her clients.
Min's empathetic nature, fostered by personal experiences including her own encounters with chronic physical pain and her family's journey with mental health challenges, creates a safe and nurturing environment where clients feel comfortable to laugh, cry, and explore their innermost thoughts and emotions.
As a bilingual practitioner fluent in both English and Korean, Min offers culturally sensitive therapy tailored to the specific needs of her clients. Specialising in empowering individuals, particularly children who are neurodivergent, including those with Autism, ADHD, and behavioural issues, Min helps them thrive and flourish. Her expertise also extends to addressing a wide range of psychological concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, complex relationship dynamics, parenting challenges, and stress management.
